Glenn Maxwell in full, Glenn James Maxwell (born on 14 October 1988 in Kew, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian allrounder who can bat in the middle order as well as can bowl some crucial overs with his spin bowling. Maxwell has played all the three formats of the game for Australia and currently is a crucial member of the Australian squad in the limited-overs format. Maxwell is often considered one of the most destructive batters in the world in T20 format. Glenn Maxwell represents Victoria in Australia and was retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the mega auction of Indian Premier League 2022.

Maxwell started playing cricket at a very young age of 11. He started off his cricketing life playing for South Belgrave. In the early stages of his career, he began as fast bowler. After performing well for his College team, Maxwell got picked up in the Victoria team back in 2009.
In 2010, he was selected in the Australian squad for Hong Kong Cricket sixes tournament where he emerged as the Player of the tournament.
In 2010-11, Maxwell made his first-class debut for Victoria. He picked 2 wickets in the match and also scored 38 runs. In a match against Tasmania, Maxwell scored a half century in just 19 balls, fastest by any Australian batter in domestic cricket.
2011 season went well for Maxwell as he emerged as the leading scorer in Emerging players Tournament.
He continued his performance in 2012 as well and 4 half centuries in 6 matches and also picked 8 wickets.
In 2012, Maxwell went to England to play cricket for T20 club Hampshire. He scored 178 runs in 3 matches that includes the innings of 115 runs off just 31 balls.
In 2013, he started off the season on the positive note and scored 58 runs in the first match against Tasmania.

In 2014, Maxwell got picked up in the Australian squad for Men’s T20 World Cup. He ended up the tournament as the leading run scorer for Australia. He smashed 147 runs in the tournament. However, Australia got knocked out in the group stage.
In 2015, he got picked up in the ODI squad for Tri series against England and India. He had an excellent tournament and played a match winning knock of 95 runs in the final. He also picked 4 wickets in the finals.
Maxwell was included in the Australian squad for ICC World Cup 2015. He had an amazing tournament with bat as well as with ball. Australia won the World Cup for the fifth time in the history and Maxwell ended up scoring 324 runs in the tournament.
In 2016, Maxwell was included in almost all the limited overs matches for Australia but didn’t performed well in the beginning of the season but in the later half of the season, he regained his form and scored second highest individual score in the history of T20 cricket.
In 2019, Maxwell helped Australia winning an ODI series against England in England. He was awarded with Player of the series.
Maxwell was also the part of the Australian squad that won Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021.
