Gautam Gambhir: “You Will Go To Jail Or Quarantine”
Cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir has sounded a dire warning for those who violate the lock-down various governments have imposed across the country.
The central government and many state governments have implemented lock-downs in different parts of the country ordering people to stay at home and not to come out on streets until March 31st as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Before that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also asked the people to follow Janata Curfew by not coming out of their houses on Sunday.
But for the people who think of not obeying the orders and coming out of their houses, the former left-handed batsman has warned them to face a jail term.
The BJP MP tweeted,” khud bhee jaenge aur parivaar ko bhee le jaenge ! quarantine ya jel ! poore samaaj par khatara na bane aur ghar par rahen ! jang naukaree aur vyaapaar se nahin, zindagee se hai ! zarooree sevaayen dene vaale pareshaan na hon isaka bhee dhyaan rakhen ! !LOCKDOWN !!!! ka paalan karen ( You and your family will go to Quarantine or Jail. Do not be a threat to the whole society and stay at home. We are fighting for our existence, not for our livelihood. Don’t cause disturbances to people carrying out essential services. Follow the government’s lock-down guidelines).”
Pledges To Donate 50 lakhs Towards Treatment Of The Disease.
He also vowed to donate 50 lakh rupees to fight the pandemic. In a letter to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Gambhir wrote: “In furtherance of the united effort to save our city and citizens from this pandemic, I would like to pledge Rs 50 lakh from my MPLAD fund for equipment that may be needed for Covid-19 treatment in state government hospitals.”Kindly direct the officers in charge to let my office know about the requirements and please let me know if I could be of any other assistance.”
