Bravo Has Revealed Why They Did That Sprinting Match In 2018:
Dwayne Bravo is a much-experienced cricketer, maybe 37-years-old but his will power to compete is tremendous. He always keeps himself fit and keeps himself a consistent presence whenever he is one the field.
In IPL, Dwayne Bravo plays for CSK (Chennai Super Kings). He and CSK captain MS Dhoni had a sprinting match after the final match in 2018 at the Wankhede Stadium and that instant is remembered by the fans.
Now, Bravo has exposed why they did that sprinting match. Bravo said that throughput the season, Dhoni called himself as an old man, that’s why he put a challenge in front of MS Dhoni for a sprint match.
During an Instagram Live chat, Bravo said “Throughout the complete season, Dhoni kept saying that I am an old person, I am an old person, very slow. For that, I told him, ‘I will challenge you in a sprint match in between the wickets’. He replied with a big no. Then, I said ‘we will do that sprint match when the game gets completed,”.
“I said ‘I am not telling to do the match in the middle of the game and one of us cracks our hamstrings’. We did the match after the final game. The match was a very close competition, very very close. He defeated me. It was a nice race. He was very fast.”
Further, Bravo thanked both CSK coach Stephen Fleming and skipper Dhoni for keeping faith in his capabilities.
“Dhoni believed me a lot, and also the coach Stephen Fleming. They gave me a chance to be myself. On some occasions, I bowl in the death overs and give a lot of runs. A number of teams, a number of captains, even in the commentary they said ‘it’s the peak time to move on from Bravo to bowl, get some other bowler at the death’.
“Always Chennai Super Kings show belief in my capability to bowl at the death. And it paid off also. Most often than not, you can deliver. Playing against top players, things won’t go as your plan. But I believe in my talent,” he said.
