Why VVS Laxman Was Disappointed By Rohit Sharma
Rohit was dismissed by Mark wood when India needed a good partnership. VVS Laxman mentioned that it was really important for Rohit to carry out the innings since KL Rahul was dismissed just a few overs back. India was left with 27-2 in the difficult position of the match. Let us see the view of dismissal from VVS Laxman.
“Rohit Sharma has let himself down. We have seen him get out in that fashion in the first Test in Nottingham as well. Sometimes your favorite stroke can lead to your downfall. In the very same over, he got a beautiful six over fine leg.” – Laxman said.
“When the opposition captain makes a change, it is very clear that it is their line of attack and they want Rohit Sharma to play (a particular shot). It was a trap for Rohit Sharma and he, unfortunately, fell into that. He is a much more experienced player than what we saw with that shot selection.” VVS Laxman added.
VVS Laxman later discussed how Rohit should have left the ball alone when the trap is set clearly for him and later on he can put pressure on bowlers.
“Rohit or any stroke players would want to play their shots, only then can they put pressure on the bowlers. But when the opposition is trying to get you out in one fashion, that is where you have got to have other options.”
Team India has won the 2nd Test at Lords and lead the series with 1-0. And on the other hand, England will definitely look to revise their plans for the 3rd Test at Headingley.
