Shikhar Dhawan, one of the key left-handed batsmen, missed the T-20I series against West Indies due to an injury. Dhawan was, in fact, selected for both T-20 and ODI series but got injured in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
BCCI medical team assisted him to know the report about his injury and how much time it would take to heal, it then said that he was not completely healed and he needed some more time.
In the last series, Sanju Samson replaced Shikhar Dhawan. However, the wicket-keeper batsmen did not get a chance to play in the first T-20I match as the place was continued by the Rishabh Pant.
Shikar dhawan place is replaced by mayank agarwal
Ahead of the 3 ODI matches, which are going to start on December 15th in Chennai, the selection committee on Wednesday revealedt the Test opener, Mayank Agarwal, was going replace Shikhar Dhawan. Mayank Agarwal had already marked his place in the Test series and it is hoped that he performs as well in the ODIs as he did in the Test series.
