The Test Will Be Conducted Before The Players Leave For UAE:
Indian IPL Franchise Members Delhi Capitals underwent a Covid-19 check on Saturday before leaving for the UAE for the upcoming tournament. The Indian contingent is currently assembled in Mumbai, and the players who return the negative Covid-19 test will depart for the UAE. Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab have already entered the UAE for the upcoming IPL edition.
As per the Standard Operating Procedure, the BCCI has already informed the franchises that players will undergo a compulsory seven-day quarantine period after arrival in the UAE. As per the BCCI SOPs, players will have to undergo RT-PCR tests on Days 1, 3 and 6 of the quarantine process and will then enter the bio-bubble if they test negative on all three occasions.
The 13th edition of the IPL will be run for 53 days, from September 19 to November 10, across three venues — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. The final match is expected to take place on a weekday, i.e. Tuesday, the first time in the history of the T20 tournament. This season, the afternoon and evening games will be played half an hour earlier than normal.
