David Miller, the South African batsman, has signed with Hobart hurricanes for the upcoming 2019-2020 Big Bash League (BBL). Miller is all set to play all 14 home and away games for Hobart Hurricanes franchise in the BBL.
The 30-year old David Miller has participated in around 294 T20 international series and also has experience of various T20 leagues across the world. After Afghanistan’s Qais Ahmad, David miller is the club’s second overseas player signing for the 2020 season of the Big Bash League.
Every one expected Miller to stand up when Matthew Wade and possibly D’Arcy Short and Ben McDermott were elected for Australia internationals. David Miller has tasted success before in Hobart when he smashed 139 runs in 108 deliveries which helped South Africa win against Australia at the Blundstone Arena in 2018.
Nick Cummins, CEO of Cricket Tasmania, said, “It’s very exciting to welcome a player of David’s caliber to the Hurricanes, We’ve built a reputation as a destination club among internationals, and we are confident David’s hard-hitting batting will give our members and fans great entertainment, and possibly a few opportunities to catch a six!”
“We expect to lose some batting experience throughout the season, so David will provide valuable runs in our drive to our third successive finals campaign.”
Hobart Hurricanes are going to kick start their campaign on December 20 against the Sydney Sixers which is scheduled to take place at Alice springs.
