CSA said six people have returned positive for the coronavirus:
On Wednesday (15-07-2020), Cricket South Africa said that six people have found COVID-19 positive but luckily none of them are players after nearly 50 tests conducted before the 3 Team Cricket match, which is scheduled to be held this Saturday (18-07-2020).
In a statement, Cricket South Africa said “CSA can give assurance that nearly 50 COVID-19 PCR tests were conducted on cricketers, support staff, coaches, and venue staff during this time period of 10th to 13th July at different venues all over the country for the 3Team Cricket match.”
Further, it added “Although six positive cases are found none of them are players. As per the guidelines of the Department of Health & National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), the six employees have been handled by the Cricket South Africa Medical team.”
Till now, Cricket South Africa has not disclosed the names of those people, who are tested COVID-19 positive. The ‘3TCricket’ tournament on 18th July would be the return of the live cricket in South Africa after the COVID-19 enforced long break. In this Solidarity Cup, 24 top cricket players of South Africa are included and divided into three teams- Kingfishers, The Eagles, and The Kites, who play two halves in one match.
