Bangladesh Cricket Board postponed its under-16 team’s tour of India:
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has declared the postponement on Wednesday that Bangladesh under-16 team’s tour of India due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
Previously, it was decided that Bangladesh under-16 team is coming to India to play two three day matches and three ODI (One-day internationals) against India in that series, but after the COVID19 pandemic, Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided to cancel the tour.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Mohahmmed Jalal told PTI that “We can’t take the risk on the health of the players. At this time, there is very limited numbers of flights are available. If we think logically, then also it would not have been possible at all. We have decided to call off this tour considering these unexpected situations”.
Till now, the deadly virus has claimed more than 8000 lives worldwide. In India, the Coronavirus has infected more than 150 people and taken three lives.
This COVID19 has disturbed the full sports calendar. Every game is now cancelled because of the outbreak. To take the precaution and concerning the players, spectators, staff, all the cricket boards have taken the decisions. Many matches held in empty stadiums to prevent the spreading.
In India, BCCI has cancelled the most awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) till 15th April. Also, the cricket board of India called off ongoing India- South Africa ODI series after the opening match in Dharamsala. All the domestic matches also are in hold until further notice.
