CPL 2020 Schedule:
CPL 2020 is expected to be the first franchise-based tournament to be played since an imposed halt to Covid-19. The same schedule and places were confirmed Monday.
The tournament’s 2020 edition will kickstart on August 18 where the runners-up to last season’s Guyana Amazon Warriors will lock horns at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy with Trinbago Knights Riders. On September 10th the final of the 2020 edition will take place.
The tournament will be played behind closed doors and players who are scheduled to enter Trinidad & Tobago on August 01 will have to complete a mandatory 14 day quarantine period in the bio-bubble. No South African players to bar Imran Tahir from taking part in the CPL 2020.
“The tournament will be held behind closed doors in a bio-safe setting with a set of strict protocols in place to protect those participating in the tournament and the general community from the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” a statement from the CPL said.
“This year is going to be another CPL but the quality is going to be higher than ever. We’ve seen the demand for live sport after it’s come back after a lengthy absence and the competition in CPL will be stronger than ever with it being the first T20 franchise to return, “said Damien O’Donohoe.
