Virat Kohli Tops ICC List
In the ICC Test player ranking list for the batsman, India captain Virat Kohli remained at the top with 728 points.
He has 17 runs more than Australian Steve Smith who is in second place.
Other Indian Players In The ICC List
Ajinkya Rahane, with 759 points, jumped to the 8th position. Chetashwar Pujara, with 791 points, is in the sixth place, being one of the three Indians in the top 10 list.
Ravindra Jadeja, with 438 points, settled himself in the third place in the all-rounder’s list.
India’s top-ranked bowler Jasprit Bumrah is at the 6th place with 794 points. Ravichandra Ashwin is placed 8th and right-arm fast bowler Mohammed Shami complete the top-10 in the bowlers’ list.
Sri Lankan Players In The List
Sri Lanka’s former captain Angelo Mathews is back again in the top-20 batsmen after helping his team in Harare win by 10-wickets.
Leading 1-0 in the two-Test series against Zimbabwe, Mathews after his 200 runs, moved up eight places to reach the 16th position.
Other players of Sri Lanka who progressed in the rankings are Kusal Mendis who moved up from 30th to 26th rank and Dhananjaya de Silva progressed from 39th to 37th rank.
While Suranga Lakman made it to the 22nd position from the 26th. Lahiru Kumara moved to 30th from 32nd rank in the bowler’s list.
Other Players Who Made It To The List
Port Elizabeth Test is also included in the latest rankings in which England won by an innings and 53 runs to lead 2-1 in the four-Test series.
Ollie Pope won the player of the Match in Port Elizabeth for his 135. He moved up 52 slots to reach the 61st place.
Sam Curran and Dom Sibley reached 64th and 76th, respectively, by advancing four slots each.
Sikandar Raza of the Zimbabwe team moved up to 72nd from 78th among bowlers. Ben Stokes is presently ranked 10th among batsmen and 29th among bowlers.
