Cricket Australia (CA) provided a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to some of their star players listed in the contracts, allowing them to compete in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) edition, which begins in April 6. Furthermore, in their next white-ball series versus Pakistan, the Aussies squad will be missing David Warner, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, and Josh Hazlewood. Here In this article, we have discussed CA Grants NoC To Warner and Cummins To Participate In IPL 2022.
CA Grants NoC To Warner and Cummins:
Australia will face Pakistan in a 3-match Test series which begins on 4th March and concludes on 25th March. This would be Aussies’ first visit to Pakistan in 24-years. The shorter version of the game will begin on 29 March and end on 5 April. The limited-overs series against Pakistan is set to clash with the opening of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in March.
We have picked a talented and versatile squad: George Bailey
“Yes, we have granted NoCs to our players to be available for their franchises from April 6 in the IPL. The players can be available only after the Pakistan tour concludes,” said the sources.
However, recently Australia confirmed their ODI & T20I squads, which will face the hosts in 3 ODIs and a T20I fixture. Alongside potential starter Ben McDermott, captain Aaron Finch will be crucial for getting the team off to a fine start. Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, and Mitchell Marsh will make up the middle-order. Cameron Green, Wicketkeeper Alex Carey, and Marcus Stoinis will be the best finishers for Australia.
“We have picked a talented and versatile squad with a number of challenges to juggle, including the tour structure of predominantly 50 over games, management of several multi-format players in the medium to long term; and our need to build experience and depth in preparation for two short-form World Cups within the next 18 months”, said National selector George Bailey.
“We’re confident the squad can both compete successfully on this tour and continue our progress towards those crucial tournaments,” he added.
