Team India will be having some special visitors at the nets when they will move ahead to Visakhapatnam for the second ODI match of the series against the West Indies team. This is because Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah will be seen having a bowl in the nets while training with the Men in Blue Team. The team management will be monitoring his recovery after he underwent rehabilitation for the stress fracture he suffered on his back.
Bumrah To Comeback After Recovery:
According to the IANS, Bumrah will bowl to Team India captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma. The training team led by Nitin Patel believes that he has recovered from injury.
A source said, “Bumrah will be seen joining his team at the nets in Vizag and his comeback will be tested as he goes for practice against the world’s best batsmen like Kohli and Rohit. You cannot really have a better test than having to go against the best players during the practice. As you are very much aware that the team management has been very much specific about injury management and that is why this process has been taken place. It will be an exciting match at the nets for sure.”
Team India will be playing at home against Sri Lanka and Australia in January before they head to New Zealand for a tour comprising two Tests, three-ODIs and five T20I matches. Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team, and his teammates want Bumrah to be completely fit for the tour of New Zealand.
The source said, “You cannot afford to take any kind of chance with one of your best pacers even though his body is on auto-heal mode. So, the team management has sent him to the UK for proper consultation. In the upcoming new year, we are having a plan for an important tour of New Zealand, and he will be a crucial part of the planning there. So, the team management was very much clear that they are very much happy to wait and have him back in the team at his best in time for the New Zealand tour.”
It is hoped that Jasprit Bumrah might make his comeback for the ODI series against the Australia Team as the management might not force him to take part in the Sri Lanka series which is going to be played in the first week of January. Team India will play against their first ODI match against Australia on January 14 in Mumbai.
