The West Indies cricketing legend batsman Brian Lara has revealed his favorite batsman name among the current bunch of players.
Normally most of you would go on to guess that it would be Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma or Steve Smith. But Lara took everyone to surprise and said that out of the present generation, Indian batsman K.L.Rahul is the one he likes the most.
My Favorite Is KL Rahul – Brian Lara
Speaking to Sportstar magazine he said, “I follow the West Indies as you know. They did pretty well in Sri Lanka in the T20 version of the game. Around the world, there are so many amazing batsmen to look at. There is Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma. My favorite is KL Rahul.”
KL Rahul was in tremendous form in the recently concluded New Zealand tour. He has excelled in his new role as a wicketkeeper. He batted well when sent as an opener or in the middle order.
The young batsman would be hoping to continue this momentum in the upcoming ODI series with New Zealand where the latter will play 3 matches against the hosts India.
The series will begin on March 12 at Dharmasala. The second match will be held at Lucknow on March 15 and the final ODI will take place on March 18th at Eden Gardens Kolkata.
Lara is presently in India to participate in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2020 where he is leading the West Indies legends. In the first match of the series West Indies team lost to India where Lara scored 17 runs of 15 balls.
