Big Bash League 2020-21 is set to begin soon and we honestly can’t wait for it to start. We at Stumpsandbails provide you with a closer look at a few of the foreign players who are set to play their first BBL season.
1: Danny Briggs – Adelaide Strikers
It is only a mystery why Danny Briggs doesn’t feature regularly for the England T20I team. As he is the most accomplished T20 bowler in England’s domestic competition. Having said that, Briggs will look to make a telling impact for Adelaide Strikers this season and prove his credentials.

2: Imad Wasim – Melbourne Renegades
A street smart cricketer who operates wisely in the limited-overs for Pakistan is a solid signing for the Melbourne Renegades. One of the top 10 T20I bowlers as per ICC rankings, his skill is effective both in the powerplay and at the death. A combination that is as rare as it seems special. Trent Woodhill thinks his bowling smarts combined with his hitting prowess makes him an effective buy.
3: Adam Milne – Sydney Thunder
The bolt from the kiwi-land, Adam Milne is someone who can step on the heat with his sheer pace. He has long been expected to carry forward the legacy of Shane Bond. But constant injury issues and form dip have kept him away from the action. Adam Milne will be looking to set the stage alight with his thunderous display come this BBL.

4: Rilee Rossouw – Melbourne Renegades
If not for the Kolpak deal, Rilee Rossouw would have surely had a fruitful career with South Africa. An attacking left-hand batsman by nature, Rossouw has played over 200 T20 matches across the globe. He is known for his finishing skills. Rossouw had recently belted a century in the Pakistan Super League. He is expected to shore up the Melbourne Renegades middle order. Woodhill considers Rossouw’s signing as a big asset for the Melbourne Renegades.
5: Keemo Paul – Hobart Hurricanes
Keemo Paul’s services for the Hobart Hurricanes can be availed after the West Indies tours New Zealand in mid-December. Once he is available, it is hoped that he’ll be able to play the bulk of the tournament. Keemo Paul is known for his bag of tricks with the ball and he brings in dynamism in lower-order batting.

6: Nicholas Pooran- Melbourne Stars
If you were to believe the words of Universe Boss, Chris Gayle then Nicholas Pooran is the next big thing. Gayle believes Pooran is his heir apparent. Pooran has already shown a glimpse of his talent in the IPL 2020 where he was seen striking at a rate of more than 170. Add to his fielding credentials, he is a star, and expect nothing less than fireworks from him. BBL’s talent acquisition consultant Trent Woodhill goes to the extent of naming Pooran as the next Brian Lara. That is some compliment, we must say!
7: Lewis Gregory – Brisbane Heat
Lewis Gregory is a talent to watch out for. He provides value as a seam-bowling all-rounder who has picked up 100 wickets in about 100 T20 matches. While he is no mug with the bat either. He averages more than 20 with the bat and strikes them long and hard. Gregory is an ideal player to have in your setup at numbers 5,6 or 7. He could prove to be an explosive finisher.
8: Colin Munro – Perth Scorchers
Colin Munro is part of that elite group of T20 batsmen who have scored 3 or more T20I centuries (the other 2 being Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell). He is an asset to any team he plays. His explosiveness at the top can bring down any opposition. The Perth Scorchers have made a terrific signing in him.

9: Andre Fletcher – Melbourne Stars
Andre Fletcher has often flown under the radar thanks to other T20 giants present in the West Indies setup. But don’t rule out Fletcher from having a breakthrough BBL season. His fiery batting could well lit up the stage in the powerplay for Melbourne Stars.
10: Joe Clarke – Perth Scorchers
This young man is finding his feet in global cricketing leagues. He is just 24 but has already notched up 17 first-class centuries. Joe Clarke will be an ideal backup to the likes of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone in the Perth Scorchers setup.
11: Noor Ahmad – Melbourne Renegades
Noor Ahmad is just 15 and he is another one of Afghan’s teen sensations. He bowls a quick left-arm wrist spin. Ahmad has made a striking impression in domestic cricket at home and will be hoping to replicate his magic in BBL this year.
