Babar Azam is looking imminent to become one of Pakistan’s all-time greats. The way he carries the innings and his form recently has been on top of all. Having made his international debut in 2015, the 26-year old is the batting mainstay for his team. Recently, he was appointed as Pakistan’s Test captain and is now captaining the side in all the three formats.

Babar Azam, who has been recently appointed as Pakistan’s captain in all three formats, said Mohammad Yousuf had a lot of time to play the ball.
“My idol is Mohammad Yousuf. He was such a classy player. He had all the time in the world to play the ball. I always enjoyed watching him bat,” Azam told Sportstar.

Mohammad Yousuf retired after representing Pakistan in 90 Tests, 288 ODIs, and 3 T20Is. He scored 7530 runs in Tests at an average of 52.29 and 9720 runs in ODIs at an average of 41.72.
Mohammad Yousuf was the backbone of the Pakistan batting line up during his time and he has played brilliant knocks overseas against cricketing gaints like Australia, England and India. Mohammad Yousuf is one of the greatest batsmen to have played for Pakistan.

Babar Azam has already scored 17 centuries in small amount of time. He’s only 26 years old. Babar Azam is one of the few batsmen with average of more than 50 in ODIs and T20Is. In Tests, he has an average of more than 45 and the way he has performed in the last few Test series, the average is looking likely to increase in the coming days. He recently helped Karachi Kings win their first-ever PSL title. Babar Azam has recieved a lot of praises from cricketing best like Wasim Akram, Steven Smith, Dale Steyn and many more.
Babar Azam is currently in New Zealand with the Pakistan team for three T20Is and a couple of Tests. He will be desperate to make a mark as a captain on the challenging tour. Pakistan have struggled to do well against New Zealand in recent years. They have won only two – a pair of T20I series – out of their last 12 bilateral series across formats and venues against New Zealand.
