IPL 2021 has started on a brilliant note. There have already been quite a few games that have gone down the wire. All the teams have played at least one game each. Batsmen and bowlers have left their stamp on the IPL. Mumbai and Chennai have hosted all the 12 completed games till now. Mumbai has witnessed high-scoring matches while Chennai has produced low-scoring thrillers.
Challenge for teams:
IPL 2021 has done away with the concept of home and away. All teams are required to play in neutral venues. This has negated the curated strength of the squad to a certain extent. Despite all odds, few players have put in striking performances. Few such players must have gone unsold in the fantasy auctions earlier. It is time you make a note of such key players and include them in your StumpsandBails fantasy team.
IPL 2021: DC vs MI preview
Delhi Capitals have played all their 3 games at the Wankhede in Mumbai. The pitches there have aided stroke-making. DC have won 2 out of their 3 games. They started with a win over CSK, lost to RR, and beat PK. Their batting might helped them overhaul big targets against CSK and PK. DC struggled when the pitch offered something to the bowlers. Their struggles against RR seamers were proof of that point. DC will now be playing a couple of games at the slow Chennai strip. The wicket might prove to be counter-productive for DC’s stroke makers. It will be interesting to note the approach they take to battle the Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians on the other hand have played all their games at the Chepauk, Chennai. They have slowly mastered the art of playing on these slow low wickets. MI ran RCB close in their opening game and then went on to defeat KKR and SRH. The defending champions have notched up 4 points without even playing their best cricket. This is a worrying sign for all the other teams. MI’s bowling attack has arguably been the best in these conditions. They will be overwhelming favourites in the match against DC.
IPL 2021: Players to have in your StumpsandBails Fantasy Team
Avesh Khan:
Avesh Khan has leapfrogged the likes of Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma in the DC setup. He has fulfilled potential with performance. Khan has been impressive in all the 3 games until now. His ability to bowl anywhere has come like a breath of fresh air for DC. He has picked up 6 wickets in 3 games at an average of 14.66. His economy rate of 7.33 is outstanding too considering he has bowled in challenging Mumbai conditions. He will be a handful in the difficult Chennai wicket.
Jayant Yadav:
MI has brilliantly used Jayant Yadav in the last couple of seasons. He has played against those teams who majorly have left-handers in their ranks. Yadav made a lasting impression in key matches in IPL 2019 and IPL 2020. He came up trumps in the matchups against left-handers. Yadav outsmarted Suresh Raina in 2019 and Shikhar Dhawan in 2020. We believe Yadav will be precisely brought in for this reason to counter Dhawan’s charge. He will be a great pick in your fantasy team.
