Amid the ongoing coronavirus scare, when many players are opting to ditch the traditional handshake, Australian coach Justin Langer has insisted his players go for it.
He said that there were plenty of hand sanitizers in their kits and the players need not fear the spreading of coronavirus through handshakes.
Langer’s comments come close to the heels of England captain Joe Root’s statement. Root in his statement said that his fellow teammates would not shake hands with other players during their upcoming Sri Lankan tour and would instead engage in fist bumps.

Australia recently lost a 3 match ODI series against South Africa and would now face New Zealand at home for a 3 match ODI series and will be traveling to New Zealand for three T20 matches after that.
Speaking about the fitness of his senior players due to the team’s busy schedule Langer said that his team consists of brilliant players, but it is sometimes difficult for even the best to stay sharp all the time. Though they are mentally tough guys, it is a challenge for them to be 100 percent, he added.
The Aussie players will travel to India to participate in IPL after the conclusion of the T20 series against New Zealand.
