With injuries, racism, body blows, and whatnot, the Indians tackled every possible obstacle to bag a draw against Australia during the third Test in Sydney. The injury-laden Indian side fought gracefully against the mighty Australians to keep the four-match series alive. However, there were plenty of scenarios that took place during the third Test which somewhere hampered the spirit of the gentlemen’s game. One such incident was when Tim Paine was caught abusing India’s R. Ashwin.
IND vs AUS: Tim Paine was recorded using foul language
Australians tried every trick from their sleeves to frustrate the Indians. Moreso, the hosts were even caught abusing the Indian batsmen to get the better of them. Australian captain Tim Paine was recorded on stump mic using slur language against Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The Indian right-arm off-breaker stayed for a total of 3 hours in the crease while inflicting a draw against the Aussies in the 3rd Test at Sydney.
Nothing seemed to have bothered the 34-year-old Indian as he courageously took all the body blows from the Australian pacers. Nathan Lyon’s spin was too easy for Ashwin to face as he complimented Hanuma Vihari well in their approach to keep the match alive for the Indians. At the same time, the furious Australians came up with some “below the belt” banter to play with the mind of the Indians.
The following conversation was recorded on the stump mic:
- Tim Paine: Can’t wait to get you to the Gabba, Ash
- R Ashwin: Can’t wait to get you to India, it’ll be your last series
- Tim Paine: At least my teammates like me, d**kh**d
