The Indian iconic film actor, Amitabh Bacchan, has apologized to fans for distributing an incorrect advertisement. The Super Star, who is the brand ambassador for Legends League Cricket (LLC), appeared in the tournament’s promotional video. The name Sachin Tendulkar was also used in the advertisement, as spectators prepared to watch the former Indian batsman back in business. Tendulkar’s firm, SRT Sports Management Private Limited, later acknowledged that the batting legend will not be participating in the competition.
The company also advised the organizers not to confuse Amitabh Bacchan and his followers. This oversight upset the spectators, and social media was flooded with anger for the organizers. The Sholay actor was also criticized for spreading inaccurate information. After Sachin’s company’s clarifying tweet, Amitabh apologized to fans and posted the updated commercial, which did not include Tendulkar’s identity.
“T 4152 – CORRECTION : Legends League Cricket T20, FINAL promo .. apologies .. and regrets for any inconvenience caused .. the error was inadvertent .. #legendsleaguecricket #bosslogonkagame,” the legendary actor wrote on Twitter.
Tendulkar’s business announced that the 48-year-old will not compete in the contest just hours before Bacchan’s tweet. “The news about @sachin_rt ’s participation in ‘Legends League Cricket’ is not true. The organisers should refrain from misleading cricket fans and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. – Official spokesperson, SRT Sports Management Pvt. Ltd,” wrote the firm in a tweet based on Bacchan’s incorrect promotional post.
For the uninitiated, the Legends League Cricket will feature former players from India, Sri Lanka, England, Australia, Pakistan, and other cricketing countries. All of these superstars will be split into 3 teams: the India Maharajas, the Asia Lions, and the World Giants. The event begins on January 20th, with all fixtures held at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman. The final match is set to take place on January 29th.
