3 Team Cricket Solidarity Cup has a great deal for Cricket South Africa and the players:
Along with the charitable reason for which the 3 Team Cricket Solidarity cup is going to be held this weekend, the tournament has a fantastic deal for the Cricket South Africa as well as for the cricketers.
The Solidarity Cup is the first live sports match taking place in South Africa after the lockdown, it offers an important and a unique chance for Cricket South Africa to take initiative and show a new path for the cricket in South Africa.
On Thursday (16-07-2020), the cricketers will involve in a practice match to be acquitted with this new format in which 24 players divided into three squads play a version that seems complicated but must be fun.
Lungi Ngidi Statement:
What would not be fun are a few discussions taking place among the cricketers. Last week, Lungi Ngidi said that he would lead the discussion and he believes that all his teammates need to understand the real importance of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Among the most important results from those conversations will be seeing the mindsets of Ngidi’s white teammates, who are remaining silent about this topic in the last few days. As a team, what they get from those conversations as well as their reactions will be important to the Proteas’ future.
For this time being, Cricket SA along with its broadcast partner, SuperSoft will also be under examination to match the passion, loyalty, and quality of Sky TV in England.
Changes in the tournament:
Since the 3TC tournament was first declared a month before, there have been a few employees changes. Chris Morris now plays for Kagis Rabada, and the Kingfishers team has needed to withdraw because of a scheduling fight with the rescheduled date. Originally, the match had organized to be held on 27th June but was deferred when CSA had not gotten any permission from the government to organize the tournament.
Previously, Sisanda Magala was set to include in the team of AB de Villiers, the Eagles, but enforced to withdraw his name because his father passed away.
Morris has been replaced by Free Stater Gerald Coetzee, while Magala’s position has been filled up by Bjorn Fortuin.
On Tuesday (14-07-2020), Cricket South Africa confirmed that COVID-19 tests had been conducted and six positive cases returned. But CSA gave confirmation that none of them are players.
