Liton Das’s Superb Performance:
Bangladesh opener Liton Das has maintained his outstanding form and defeated team Zimbabwe in the second T20 international by nine wickets. The two-match series comes to an end in 2-0. In the second T20I match held in Dhaka on Wednesday, Liton scored an unbeaten 60 runs out of 45 balls. It is his second half-century in this series and this is followed two fantastic centuries in the earlier one-day international series.
After limiting Zimbabwe to 119 runs with the loss of 7 wickets, Bangladesh scored 120 runs in 15.5 overs with the loss of only one wicket. By chasing a small target, Liton hit eight boundaries and made 77 runs.
Other Players of Bangladesh:
Tamim Iqbal replacement Naim scored 33 runs and he is the only batsman who got dismissed in the innings of Bangladesh by Chris Mpofu.
Soumya Sarkar, all-rounder of Bangladesh stayed unbeaten on 20 and completed the match off along with Liton with just a single from bowler Mpofu and finished the match with 25 balls to unused.
Mahmudullah Riyad Praised Liton:
Mahmudullah Riyad, the skipper of the Bangladesh team praised Liton for his extra-ordinary consistent performance all over the series. He said that “the way we have played in the series is very much pleasing to see, especially our opener Liton, who has batted wonderfully. It signifies his hunger and maturity level in the game”.
Zimbabwe Innings:
Previously, former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor scored an unbeaten 59 runs off 48 deliveries with one six and six fours to take the Zimbabwe team to a respectful score.
With Craig Ervine, Taylor made 57 runs and Craig Ervine scored 29 runs for the second wicket, but the bowlers of Bangladesh handled it carefully and put the Zimbabwe team in pressure.
Mustafizur Rahman and Al-Amin Hossain took 2/25 and 2/22 respectively for Bangladesh.
Sean Williams, skipper of Zimbabwe advised his teammates “to be positive”. Also, he added that “things are happening very frequently in T20 cricket. But for us, it is not occurring now. We have to reveal ourselves”.
Also, the Bangladesh team won the last ODI series with a 3-0 and one-off Test series by an innings with 106 runs.
