Tom Banton’s 20 runs in 16 balls and Jonny Bairstow’s 44 runs in 24 balls gave a fast begin with a classic opening stand of 66 runs in 38 balls, but when team England lost their wickets in continuous balls of Shadab Khan, who took 3 wickets by conceding 34 runs, the team England appeared to shake.
But Eoin Morgan and Dawid Malan, who scored unbeaten 54 runs in 36 deliveries took the counter-attack of visitor and speed up as their third-wicket partnership became stable, and finished with 112 runs in 62 deliveries before the captain Eoin Morgan caught in the deep with the Pakistan team still requiring 18 runs to win.
Team Pakistan also scored their best as the opener and captain Babar Azam made 56 runs in 44 deliveries in an opening stand of 72 runs with Fakhar Zaman, who scored 36 runs in 22 balls.
Number three batsman, Mohammad Hafeez continued that momentum with ab outstanding assault on the England bowlers, who struggled very hard to get the perfect length and too often dropped too short, exposing the team edges.
Mohammad Hafeez hit four sixes and made 69 runs in 36 deliveries before caught by Eoin Morgan at the cover.
England leg-spinner Adil Rashid was the pick of the team as he took both opener’s wickets by conceding 32 runs.
