After thrashing Netherlands in the first ODI, England ensured a smooth victory in the second one as well. England chased down the score of 236 that was set by the Netherlands who were batting first. The visitors now lead the 3-match ODI series 2-0.
The game was affected by rains and was reduced to 41 overs. after winning the toss, the Netherlands decided to bat first and scored a decent total of 235 runs losing 7 wickets. England came to chase with confidence and finished the game in just 36 overs.
Edwards led from the front. His fluent fifty and the stand with Nidamanuru had properly set things up for a total of more than 250, and they should have gotten. They definitely missed 30-40 runs compared to the pace they were playing at initially. During the slog overs, though, England’s excellent bowling held the hosts at bay. It didn’t help that van Beek took a long time to get going, scratching about a lot before launching into a couple of powerful hits at the end. The hosts gave a target of 236 to England to chase for the win.
For England, the openers, Jason Roy and Phil Salt played remarkable innings and had the first wicket partnership of 139 runs. The team did not have much problem taking on the score after it. Dawid Malan and Moein Ali sealed the deal for England as they won the match by 6 wickets with 29 balls to spare. Netherlands bowlers definitely created a buzz in the middle after they blew Morgan and Livingstone for meager scores. None of the Netherlands bowlers made an impact as England batters looked quite comfortable with the changes the hosts made.

The next match between the teams will be played on 22 June and the Netherlands will hope to give tough competition to the opponent that is looking mammoth in front of them. On the other hand, England would like to clean sweep the hosts.
