The IPL’s 15th edition is approximately on its midway. Several teams have performed admirably this season, whereas few well-established teams in the previous seasons are now struggling. Mumbai Indians (MI) have contested six games so far but failed to open their account, whereas Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have secured one win of their six games. The defending champions suffered their first setback after Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the season owing to a back injury. The franchise could now suffer yet another blow. Here is on why Adam Milne’s Injury Could Rule Him Out Of IPL 2022.
The season started with a match featuring CSK and KKR. Adam Milne, the New Zealand speedster who fell injured in the opening game, might be dropped from the IPL 2022. CSK is concerned about Adam Milne’s injury. Milne was injured in the thigh and will need another 2 weeks to heal. In CSK’s first game versus KKR, he kept playing. He only had 2.3 overs when he left the bowling.
We are hopeful that he will be able to return: CSK official
Milne is healing, according to a source for the Chennai Super Kings, although it is unclear when he’ll be totally fit. This might take a week or 2 to complete. And that will determine how fast he recovers. CSK will be hopeful that he will be needed to revert at this moment.
“Milne is recovering but we do not by when he will be fully fit. It could take a week or two. But it will depend on the progress of his recovery. At this moment, we are hopeful that he will be able to return,” said a CSK official.
When it comes to Deepak Chahar’s successor, a CSK official stated, When the team’s management returns to us, we can only seek a replacement. So yet, no one has been able to submit the ideal answer, which is not surprising. His bat was utilized to improve their lower order, and his efficiency in head games is phenomenal. They are awaiting Milne’s recovery and will make a decision as soon as possible.
“We can only seek a replacement when the team management gets back to us. So far, there is no one who can be as effective as Deepak. His effectiveness in the powerplay is second to none and he can add depth with the bat. We do not have any Indian option at the moment. We are waiting for Milne’s recovery progress and then take a call soon,” the official added.
CSK, on the other hand, struck 3 objectives on the power play versus Gujarat Titans on Sunday. However, he missed the death of bowlers in this game. The losing game was handily won by Rashid Khan & David Miller. In the final over, Gujarat required 13 runs. Rashid Khan struck 25 runs during Chris Jordan’s spell to secure the victory.
