Following Wriddhiman Saha’s spectacular performance in India’s second Test against South Africa that ended on Sunday in Pune, cricket fans went gaga.
The Bengal-based cricketer won new fans with his outstanding display of wicket-keeping. It even prompted pacer Umesh Yadav, who made a brilliant comeback, to say that he owed Saha a treat after he plucked the balls out of thin air when they could have sailed over the boundary line.
Before the start of this series, India captain Virat Kohli went so far as to say that Wriddhiman Saha “is the best keeper in the world”. Saha did not disappoint Virat Kohli with his skills behind the stumps.
With Saha rising in stature, Rishabh Pant became the target of fans who posted humorous memes, teasing him.
Pant was not included in the playing XI of the first two Test Matches against South Africa, following his unsatisfactory performance during the Test match series against West Indies in August 2019.
