Let’s take a look at AUS VS SA 1st TEST DAY 1:

AUS VS SA 1st TEST: Australia Fightback After Early Wickets

As Day 1’s stumps were called, South Africa had gained some momentum thanks to a few late wickets. What a day it has been at the Gabba, with a total of 15 wickets falling on a lively surface. Furthermore, Travis Head’s stunning counterattacking knock has given Australia the advantage in a situation when bowlers had dominated. He entered the match with the score at 27/3 and seized the initiative to blunt the South African surge. The visitors failed to stop him because they gave away far too many free things.

Furthermore, Head wasn’t left out. However, just as the partnership was spiralling out of control, Nortje struck out Smith with an incredible belter, and Rabada eventually removed the night watchman in the final over. However, Head is still unblemished and has made sure that Australia’s deficit of just 7 runs is almost eliminated. Tomorrow morning must be a significant one for South Africa to remain in the game. As always, we’ll return promptly.

AUS VS SA 1st TEST: WHAT HAPPENED IN SA 1ST INNINGS

After the dissolution of the Verreynne-Bavuma alliance, South Africa soon collapsed. In their whole innings, only that one partnership, worth 98, stood out, with wickets falling on either side of it. They were dismissed for 1 52, with 3-fors from Starc and Lyon. Boland and Cummins both claimed two wickets. After lunch, Bavuma and Verreynne continued playing positive cricket in the same manner. Verreynne looked good as he reached his fifty off just 63 balls.

However, things began to go downhill when Bavuma played back on off Starc, and Lyon then produced a superb delivery to oust Verreynne. On a pitch with much left in it, the bottom order couldn’t hold out for too long. That’s at least a positive indication for those guests who were folded at just 152.

AUS VS SA 1st TEST: MATCH ANALYSIS

The hosts are ahead as the action-packed day of Test cricket comes to an end. After winning the toss, Pat Cummins chose to bowl on a green top, and his bowlers supported his choice by dismissing South Africa for 152. After that, the visitors came out strong, scoring two goals from Rabada Jansen and Nortje to reduce Australia to 27 for 3. But Travis Head made the decision to use fire to fight fire. Before he opened his shoulders, he was once two off of sixteen. He ends the day unblemished with a score of 78 off 77, and Australia is only seven back.
