David Warner (born on 27 October 1986 in Paddington, Sydney, Australia) is an Australian left-hand opening batter. Warner has been a crucial member of the Australian squad in all three formats of the game for almost the past 10 years. He is often considered one of the best left-hand batters in the world. Apart from being an aggressive player on the field, Warner is wildly popular on social media for making funny videos. David Warner started playing cricket at a very early of 10. Originally by birth, he was a left-hand batter. However, his school coach asked him to switch to right-hand as he seems it better for Warner but Warner’s mother didn’t let his son change his batting style and he switched back to left-hand. Warner did his early schooling from Matraville Public School and then went to Randwick High School. David Warner Domestic Career

In 2008, David Warner started playing domestic cricket for New South Wales and few months later scored his first one day century against Tasmania. He scored 165 runs in the match. In the next match, he smashed 97 runs off just 54 balls.

Warner made his first-class debut in the final match of Sheffield Shield in March 2009 against Western Australia. He played at number 6 in the match and scored 42 runs.

Few years later, David scored 197 runs including 20 fours and 10 sixes while playing for New South Wales and broke the record of highest individual score in one day domestic cricket for Australia.

David Warner International Career

After getting fame in the one-day domestic circuit David Warner was picked up for T20I series against South Africa. David Warner made his international debut against South Africa on 11 January 2009 in a T20I. He scored 89 runs off 43 balls on his debut including 6 sixes.

Few days later on 18 January, Warner made his ODI debut.

In a T20I match against West Indies in 2010, Warner smashed his half century in just 18 balls making it the second fastest half century by an individual.

In 2011, Warner was included in the test series against New Zealand. He made his debut on 1 December 2011 but didn’t manage to score big runs on debut.

In 2018, During a test against South Africa, Australia batter Cameron Bancroft was seen doing the ball tempering on the field. Investigation was done for the incident by ICC and Cricket Australia and being the Vice-Captain of the team at the time, Warner was also found guilty and was banned from playing International cricket for 1 year.

After serving 1-year ban in international cricket, David Warner was included in the squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. He made a remarkable comeback and smashed 647 runs in 10 matches including two 150+ scores. He ended up as the second highest run scorer in the World Cup.

He was also included in the 2019 Ashes but only managed to score 95 runs in 5 matches. In the same year, he smashed his maiden T20I century in a match against Sri Lanka. 1 month later, he scored his maiden triple century in the tests.

In 2021, Warner was included in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He scored 289 runs in the tournament and helped Australia in lifting the title for the first time in the history.
