Ravindra Jadeja Ruled Out Of Asia Cup 2022: As informed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has a right knee injury and will miss the rest of the Asia Cup. Currently, the BCCI medical staff is in charge of Jadeja. For the balance of the competition, Jadeja will be replaced by Axar Patel, according to the BCCI. Axar will shortly join the team after being previously named as one of the standby players. Jadeja participated in both of India’s games against Pakistan and Hong Kong during the group round.
The apex board said in a statement, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Axar Patel as the replacement for Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing Asia Cup. Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a right knee injury and is ruled out of the tournament. He is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. His replacement, Axar Patel was earlier named as one of the standbys in the squad and will join the team in Dubai soon.”
Jadeja along with Hardik Pandya played a match-winning knock against Pakistan with a knock of 35 while being wicketless. Jadeja took one wicket in the match against Hong Kong but did not get the chance to bat.
India’s opening game of the Super 4 stage on Sunday, September 4, will now either be against Pakistan or Hong Kong.
Today, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will play the first match of the Super 4 stage. The loser of the match will play the winner of the match to be played between India and either Pakistan or Hongkong.
