Zimbabwe is all set to tour for an ODI series against Sri Lanka from 16th January 2022 at PICS, Kandy. This tour is very special to Zimbabwe as they will be restarting their international cricket back and both the teams will be playing an ODI format for the 1st time since January 2018.
They will play 3 ODI games at the same venue and all the matches will be played behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 threat. All the games will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and will be day-night matches. All 3 ODI games are scheduled to play on January 16th, 18th, and 21st.
Interestingly this series will be the first assignment for Mahela Jayawardena as Sri Lanka’s consultant coach. Earlier coach Mickey Arthur has stepped down from that position after recent home series against West Indies.
