Chloe Tryon (57* off 32 balls) succeeded where everyone else had failed by launching a fierce counterattack that included six fours and two sixes in order to reach the modest 110-run mark with two overs remaining. The level of difficulty the other hitters encountered as a result of the slow track made Tryon’s inning extremely noteworthy.
Harleen Deol’s perplexing batting strategy was offset to some extent by Indian spinners Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Sneh Rana. But the target was never one that could be successfully defended. This is true even though South Africa was reduced to 47 for 4 and then 66 for 5 at the start of the 14th over.
Chloe Tryon shines during big final match
Tryon acted exactly the opposite of Deol on a pitch where the ball didn’t come on to the bat. The enormous amount of dot balls that Deol consumed came at a high cost to the Indians.
Tryon stepped forward and whacked with exceptional power, repeatedly aiming for the area between square leg and midwicket.
“Body is fine. It will get better with rest. We have got some good performances. Unfortunately today we were not able to bat the way we wanted and the bowlers did well,” India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said later.
The Proteas’ stocky middle-order batter grabbed a lucky six when Pooja Vastrakar dropped a dolly at deep square leg boundary, giving the opposition easy winning runs.

Opting to bat, Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues were dismissed by spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba within the first seven overs. The Indian batsmen kept having trouble scoring runs. While captain Harmanpreet Kaur only managed to score 21 to get the total up to three figures, Harleen Deol struggled to make 46 off of 56. India scored 109/4 in the allotted 20 overs.
The women of South Africa can be proud of their bowling performance. With the ball, Shabnim Ismail and Nonkululeko Mlaba got things off to a great start. Mlaba was successful by taking two significant victims, whereas Ismail boeled it sconomically. Ayabonga Khaka and captain Sune Luus both contributed one to round up Proteas Women’s outstanding performance.
India made a contest out of it by reducing them to 21/3 in 6.3 overs thanks to their spinners. When Annerie Dercksen left the field in the 14th over, with SA-W having lost half of their team for 66, the visitors appeared to be in command of the game. With a counterattack that included six fours and a couple of sixes, Tryon ultimately prevailed. With 113/5, South Africa secured the victory and the tri-series trophy.
