The Melbourne Renegades created history by securing their maiden Women’s Big Bash League title, defeating Brisbane Heat in a rain-halted thriller in Melbourne. So let’s take a look at MR-W vs BH-W Final Match Highlights.
Despite posting 141 while batting first, the Renegades bowlers did not allow the Brisbane Heat batters to score quick runs, putting them under pressure.
The target was cut short to 98 in 12 overs due to rain, and Heat’s captain Jess Jonassen tried her best with 44* off 28 but it wasn’t enough to help Brisbane Heat win their third title.

A crucial 16 runs from Naomi Stalenberg also provided Hayley with some relief, as Renegades managed to cross 100 runs during their partnership.
With 109 for 4 after 15, the Renegades were in good position to touch 165 but a collapse ended their innings at 141 for 9 in 20 overs. Hayley Matthews remained the top run-scorer for them with a 61-ball 69.
The rain drama in WBBL Final
Chasing a target of 142 was not a big deal for the side who reached the finale after winning their last six games in a row. But the title game pressure shaken their focus.
Their star performers with the bat, Grace Harris got out for none, while Jemimah Rodrigues went back to pavilion after scoring only 1.
Rain then stopped the play in Melbourne and after an over a half hour break, the second innings reduced to 12 overs, with the DLS target set at 98.
The Heat faced another shock after coming in bat, as Georgia Redmayne was dismissed for 16, Charli Knott for seven, and Laura Harris for none when the team score was just 37 in 6.5 overs.
