The hosts chased down the small target of 84 in the morning session of the fourth day at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

After winning the toss West Indies invited the visitors to bat first, and their decision turned out to be quite favourable as they bowled out Bangladesh at just 103. Apart from skipper Shakib al Hasan (51) no other batter showed any signs of fighting spirit as a result they bundled out in just 32.5 overs.

Jayden Seales and Alzarri Joseph both took 3 wickets, while Kemar Roach and Kyle Mayers grabbed 2-2 wickets each for West Indies.

However, the home side also not able to score that big, but still they had posted 265, thanks to Kraigg Brathwaite’s 94 and Jermaine Blackwood’s 64 runs knock.

Apart from Brathwaite and Blackwood no other West Indies managed to score 35 or more runs.

In the second innings, Kemar Roach took his 10th five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game and help his team restrict Bangladesh to just 245.

Only Narul Hasan (64) and Shakib al Hasan (63) showed some class in the second innings while others trapped badly in the clever bowling style of West Indies, especially Kemar Roach.

With the fifer, Roach also equalled the tally of former fast-bowling great for West Indies, Michael Holding. With 249 wickets in 72 matches, Roach is joint-sixth on the list of most wickets for West Indies after Courtney Walsh (519), Curtly Ambrose (405), Malcolm Marshall (376), Lance Gibbs (309) and Joel Garner (259).

The hosts then required just 84 runs to win the 1st test which they chased down after losing 3 wickets.
