What if RCB Qualifies for Finals?

The day to the endgame is coming even closer and though it already makes us miss the thrill of tuning to our screen at 7:30 every day, it has also gotten us all the more exciting for the remaining two matches. Gujarat Titans have already qualified for the finale in their maiden IPL season and they are waiting to confirm who their opponent will be in the battle to lift the trophy.

Amongst the two Royals, Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challenger Bangalore, we can say Gujarat might be hoping that they get to play the Red Team (RCB) in the finale. Why? Let’s find out:

Gujarat even after being an all-round team, its strength lies in the batting order that is in prolific form. They have deep batting and with even batter 7-8 has the ability to hit it out of the park.

Starting from the top, Shubhman Gill, Matthew Wade, David Miller, Hardik Panya, Rahul Tewatiya, and Rashid Khan have all won matches for GT and are in great form. They will be hoping to chase down a score against a weaker bowling team and win the title.

Their bowling is something that has been a little concerning. Even in their previous match against Rajasthan, they had a bad time restricting the team. Apart from exceptional bowling from Rashid Khan, none of the bowlers were able to contain the Rajasthan batters. On a pitch that played a little slower in the beginning, RR still managed to hit 180+ runs. It was their good luck that after winning the toss, they elected to bowl, and batting second they had the advantage of dew which was missing in the eliminator 1. If a team like Rajasthan plays them in Ahmedabad that supports spinner more, they will have an edge over GT.

Bangalore, on the other hand, have similar strength as Gujarat but their bowling falls behind miles in front of Gujarat’s batting. It will be easier for players like Miller and Pandya who are familiar with the conditions to score better in front of bowlers who are not consistent.

RCB’s batting has also been unpredictable as even when the young players have shown endurance, the big match players have not clicked even as the tournament is ending.

What happens on the final day will be decided as to how the two teams play on that particular day. We will hope to see a good game of cricket and may the better team wins!
