Fans can be seen going head to heels to get a single glance of their favorite cricketers. A similar incident occurred yesterday when a fan breached the bio-bubble protocol to get a glimpse of Indian skipper Virat Kohli at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahemdabad. IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli’s encounter with a fan

During the third Test between India and England, an Indian fan broke all the barriers to enter the ground during the play. He was rushing towards Virat Kohli in a hope of getting a close look at his hero. However, the 32-year-old Indian skipper spotted the spectator rushing towards him from a distance. Virat Kohli, keeping the COVID-19 protocols in mind, stepped back and asked the arriving fan to return. The fan also realized his mistake and turned back. Soon as the fan started returning, the crowd in the world’s largest stadium started cheering for him.

When ANI contacted a GCA official about the fan breaching the protocols, he replied: “We will look into the matter and we will find out who the fan was. Some sort of action we will take as the matter is serious and the safety of everyone is of utmost importance.”

English skipper Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first. The pitch in the Narendra Modi stadium was as confusing as it gets. Playing in his 100th game, pacer Ishant Sharma got the better of Dom Sibley for a duck. After that, it was the local boy Axar Patel’s show throughout the first innings. Axar Patel dismantled the English batting line-up with his spell of 38 runs for 6. Premier all-rounder Ravichandra Ashwin also bagged three wickets in the first innings.

The visitors got knocked out for just 112 runs. At the time of writing the article, India are 99 for 3 in their first innings. Rohit Sharma (52) and Ajinkya Rahane (1) will open the innings for India on Day 2 of the pink-ball Test between India and England.
