The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 player auction caught everyone’s attention. Teams went over and beyond to acquire few players even if that meant breaking the bank for them. The Australian fast bowlers had a field day as many of them fetched a huge price. Jhye Richardson was bought by Punjab Kings for a whopping INR 14 crores. While the unheralded Riley Meredith was acquired for INR 8 crores again by Punjab. The experienced Nathan Coulter-Nile was bagged for INR 5 crores by Mumbai Indians who even added Adam Milne (INR 3.2 crores) to their setup.
Domestic Indian stars rocked the IPL auction:
Krishnappa Gowtham, the Karnataka off-spinner who is also known for his big-hitting ability was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings. He was bought for INR 9.25 crores. Gowtham broke the record of Krunal Pandya (INR 8.6 crores) by becoming the highest-paid uncapped player ever. Another unknown quantity, Chetan Sakariya walked in with a cool package of INR 1.2 crores as Rajasthan Royals invested in him.

Shahrukh Khan’s cricketing credentials:
The 25-year old cricketer has moulded himself into a hard-hitting bowling all-rounder. He can bowl both off-spin and pace. Khan caught everyone’s attention when he smashed 40 off 19 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He helped Tamil Nadu in their title win. He has been an integral part of the squad this season.
Khan had missed out on an IPL contract which he admitted was a difficult pill to swallow. The journey seems fulfilling and complete now for Shahrukh Khan, or as he may think, it is just the beginning.
