WATCH: Frightful Collision Of Sam Harper And Nathan Ellis

When the 46th match of the ninth season’s Big Bash League was taking place in Melbourne between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes, the wicket-keeper batsman Sam Harper of Melbourne Renegades and pacer Nathan Ellis of Hobart Hurricanes collided dangerously.

During the fourth over, when Ellis bowled his fourth ball, Harper played it towards mid-off and tried to take off for a single.

The batsman was trying to reach the crease when at the same time, the bowler was collecting the ball, leading to their collision. That action sequence created a scene as Harper seemed to fly over Ellis’s top causing him to fall.

As Harper landed with his helmet on, he received medical attention immediately. He was not expressing any affirmative signs using his body language as he was badly hurt. Due to a concussion eventually, the 23-year-old player retired hurt.

Batsman Tom Cooper was called in as a concussion substitute in this match for Renegades.

Renegades had a difficult task in front of them as the veteran batsman Shaun Marsh was dismissed on 56 while chasing a 191-run target.

Earlier, Daniel Christian, the Melbourne captain won the toss and opted to the bowl. Hobart posted a score of 190 for the loss 3 wickets in the 20 allotted overs. Opener Matthew Wade scored 66 runs while Macalister Wright scored a 70.
