Washington Sundar ruled out of West Indies T20I Series

Young Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar has officially been ruled out of the Twenty20 series against West Indies. He has made his comeback in the recent ODI series and has performed pretty decently. And the board has named left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav as his replacement in the T20 series. Washington Sundar Ruled Out Of West Indies T20I Series:

BCCI has officially released a press note stating – “Washington Sundar suffered a left hamstring muscle strain during fielding in the third ODI,”

Washington Sundar will now have to report at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on February 15th and he has to spend a total of 3 weeks for his recovery. Officially he has left the Indian camp at Kolkata on Feb 14th and reached NCA.

Team India is scheduled to play three T20 games and the 1st one will be played on Feb 16th at Eden Gardens Kolkata.

Sundar is now the 3rd player to be out of the Twenty20 squad against West Indies after KL Rahul and Axar Patel. Rahul was suffering from an upper-left hamstring strain and Axar Patel has almost completed his rehabilitation after recovering from Covid.

And BCCI has named Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda as replacements for KL Rahul and Axar Patel.

In the IPL Mega Auction 2022, Washington Sundar was bought for a huge price tag of Rs 8.75 crore by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohd. Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Deepak Hooda, Kuldeep Yadav

Certainly, Kuldeep Yadav is a good replacement for Sundar but the experts have mixed opinions on the selection. Kuldeep has to captivate this if he gets a chance to play any of the T20 games because his performance in this series is going to be very crucial for this future selections.
