Warner returns to BBL after almost 9 years

After signing a two-year deal with Sydney Thunder the former Australian captain David Warner is all set to return to Big Bash League.

Warner will be playing Big Bash League (BBL) after 9 long years and now he has a chance to play for Sydney Thunder. Warner also had an offer from the UAE-T20 league which is set to clash with BBL but he refused to play for any UAE franchisee instead he will be playing the Big Bash League.

The inaugural draft system of picking players will take place in BBL and players like warner will create a buzz among the fans to watch the Big Bash League more eagerly, many more high-profile players will also be drafted before the tournament starts as the BBL side looks to strengthen their squad for the future matches.

The Left-hand batsman from Australia is popularly recognized for his destructive batting in the T20 format. Warner is the fourth-highest run scorer in the shortest format of the game with 10,870 runs under his cap.

This will be a good opportunity for the Australian fans as Warner has scored most of his amazing performances outside Australia, so this time he will be playing in front of Australian fans and this would boost the publicity of the Big Bash League.

In a recent interview, he was asked why he decided in returning to the Big Bash League, he said that his daughters Ivy Mae, Isla Rose, and Indi Rae influenced him in making a return to BBL.

He is quoted as saying “My ‘girls’ have told me that they’d love to watch me play at home and in the BBL.”

“It will be great for us to be a part of the BBL as a family, and it is something that I am really looking forward to sharing with them. I care deeply about the game, and I am conscious that the conditions that I enjoy as a professional cricketer have largely come from other senior players who have come before me.”

He went on to say that “This is how the game is structured and I understand that my contribution to the future of the BBL will hopefully benefit the next generation of players long after I am retired.”

David Warner would like to create an impact like he does in IPL and will hope to guide his side to many victories. The Big Bash League (BBL) is scheduled from 13th December 2022 to 4th February 2023.
