Virat Kohli’s heartfelt message for MS Dhoni takes the internet by storm

Virat Kohli took the internet by storm after sharing an image with the legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni on Thursday night with a heartfelt message.

Kohli, who recently celebrated his 14th year in international cricket, recalled his most memorable days in cricket in his post, which he shared on all the leading social media platforms, and credited the ex-captain MS Dhoni for that.

The 33-year-old, who is going through tough patch of his career, made a special social media post, where he can’t stopped himself praising the 2-time World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni and his bond with him.

“Being this man’s trusted deputy was the most enjoyable and exciting period in my career. Our partnerships would always be special to me forever. 7+18,” Kohli wrote.

The “7+18” written in the message refers to Dhoni’s jersey No.7 and Kohli’s No.18.

The record-breaking batter was a long-time vice-captain to Dhoni in all formats before taking over as Test skipper in 2014 and the overall captaincy in 2017.

Throughout their time together in international colours, Kohli and Dhoni have experienced a number of remember able partnerships. The image he posted was taken at the 2016 T20 World Cup match between India and Australia in Mohali, where Virat Kohli smashed a stunning unbeaten 82 off just 51 deliveries to lead India to a six-wicket victory, with Dhoni finished the match in style with a boundary.

Dhoni led India to 3 ICC Trophies (ICC T20 World Cup, ICC World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy) and is the only captain to achieve that feat. Kohli was part of team India when the men in blue won the 2011 World Cup in India, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy in England.

Kohli, was emerged the best batter in the world during the time of MS Dhoni as captain and he received equal support from the skipper Dhoni.

He served many years as his deputy and took the full charge in January in 2017 when Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy after leading the side for more than 9 years.

Having 70 centuries under his belt, Kohli these days is struggling with form and was facing a hundred drought for the past three years.
