Virat Kohli’s future in T20Is

Virat Kohli’s Future In T20Is: Virat Kohli, when we heard about this name or think about this name, the only thing that comes to our mind is king. This is what, Kohli the cricketer has achieved in his 13-year international career so far.

The title might confuse you as now we are praising the former Indian captain, but we can’t resist ourselves as he deserves every bit of it. We do understand his current form is not up to the mark but that can’t overshadow his previous heroics and what he did for team India.

The backbone of team Indian in the last decade, Kohli is currently suffering from a bad phase in his career. The former captain has been trying his best to get a century since November 2019, but he won’t be able to convert his starts to a century.

The Run-Machine Kohli

There was a time in the previous decade when he alone took the charge of scoring the important runs and helping his team above the opponent every time. But, for the last 3 years, Virat Kohli was seen struggling with his form. Even in 2022, he found it tough to stay at the crease.

In the recently concluded series against England, Kohli again failed to leave any mark with just 31 runs in 2 test innings. In the two T20Is, he scored just 12 runs. While he posted only 33 in two matches.

Following his dull run in the England series, many criticize him, especially for his position in India’s T20 team.

In his absence, Deepak Hooda showed the potential to play at no.3 in the T20, and even when management include him in the final playing XI, they have to also remove Shreyas Iyer from the final XI.

Team India’s batting order in T20Is

As India’s batting order for the shortest format is all set, that goes like, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja, the one place remaining in between was dominated by Virat Kohli for the past few years, but now many believe he should give stop playing in T20s and gave chance to the deserving players.

The talk of limiting Kohli from T20Is once again raised up when England’s test skipper Ben Stokes suddenly announced his retirement from ODI cricket after the July series against India and cited that he thinks that the other one sitting on the bench can do better.

However, in all these, Virat Kohli a couple of days ago, expressed his desire to win the upcoming Asia Cup and T20 World Cup for India, which hinted at Kohli is in no mood to take a break from T20 and as he is on rest mode but he is preparing himself for an ultimate bounce back to be the no.1 again.

As far as Virat Kohli’s future in T20Is is concerned, as of now, we are seeing him playing the upcoming Asia Cup and T20 World Cup, and his future solely depends on how he performs in the upcoming 2 big tournaments
