Virat Kohli’s Aggressive Gesture Towards The New Zealand

Virat Kohli Aggressive Gesture

New Zealand defeated India by 7 wickets in the second Test of India’s ongoing tour of New Zealand. But before that, during the second day of the Test, India skipper Virat Kohli showed his natural aggressive spirit when the Indian bowlers started to take wickets of New Zealand batsmen in the first session.

Kohli was seen with a forceful personality while giving farewell to the Kiwi’s batsmen. He couldn’t hide his emotions when Mohammed Shami dismissed the New Zealand opening batsman Tom Latham in the 44th over.

Tom Latham’s Performance In The Game

Latham scored 52 in both first and second innings in 122 and 74 deliveries respectively. He scored his 17th half-century in the Test cricket after hitting a fifty in the first innings.

During his innings, Latham decided to leave a delivery from the fast-bowler Mohammed Shami but the ball rushed forward and hit the stumps. The dismissal of the player gave a huge relief to the Indian team.

India scored 242 in the first innings and got their fourth wicket in the form of Tom Latham. People are wondering why Kohli showed such a gesture towards the Kiwi fans, there is no confirmation yet.

But there are believes that India’s dismissing Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, and Latham without allowing them to form significant runs between them can be one of the reasons.

Unbeaten New Zealand

India eventually bundled out New Zealand for 235 in 73.1 over. Latham was the highest run-scorer for his team, Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers as he allowed the opponent to score 81 in his 23.3 overs in the first innings, and in the second 11 runs in 3.

New Zealand is now unbeaten in its last 13 home Tests by winning all the nine games. And in the past decade, their record as hosts is quite impressive, as they played 39 games and won 20 out of them.
