Virat Kohli Hints, He May Change His Batting Position

Kohli plans on Australia Tour of India

As team India plays Australia in the upcoming series, they are ready with their new strategy. ‘Don’t tinker with things that aren’t broken’ is an adage but Team India will follow a different ideology against Australia. It seems that they are going to fiddle with their batting order. These two teams have to play as per schedule three ODIs on Jan 14 in Mumbai, on Jan 17 in Rajkot, and on Jan 19 in Bengaluru.

Before the Mumbai ODI, Kohli hinted at the pre-match press conference that keeping in mind the batting order of the trio of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and KL Rahul, he is is ready to bat down the order. He also said that for the good of the team he is willing to change his batting order and was not possessive about it.

” For a good selection of team I always keep a few things in mind and the things are that we should always see for the good of the team a guy should always be in form. And we should be sure that in the team the best players are available, we should choose the right combination who can perform well for your team. Moreover that there is a possibility that Rohit, Shikhar, and KL Rahul will play in the team,” Kohli told reporters.

On the eve of the match, Kohli said, ” It will be interesting to see for everyone that on that the field what balance we want to take in. When it was questioned to Kohli that will he be happy to bat lower down the order he said, ” Yeah, there is a big possibility. To do so I would be very happy. But, where I play, about that I am not possessive. Where I will play, about that I am not insecure.” he added.

Regarding the responsibility of a captain, Kohli added that a captain should always ready for the ‘next lot.’

Kohli On A Captain’s Responsibility

” As a team’s captain, it is my responsibility that I take care of whether the next lot is ready or not also. At that way, a lot of people possibly might not look at it, but as a captain, it is not your job to not only right now look after the team but you to leave behind in the preparation of the team when onto someone else you pass it eventually,” Kohli said.

When against Sri Lanka the T20I series was complete, reporters had questioned Dhawan about how selectors will choose among KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and him. To this question he had responded, “Not my headache.”

“Each of the three players is performing well. 2019 of Rohit was obvious adorable. Keeping in mind the past couple of months Rahul has also performed very well. Aur ab picture mein mai bhi aa gya hoon, aj mere dwara bhi acchar kar diya gya. Toh Kahani mast banti dikh rahi hai. Khair ye sab meri sardardi nahi hai. (Now with my performance of this match I have also stepped-in the frame but thankfully, these things are not my headache),” Dhawan told a reporter after India’s win in Pune in the 3rd T20I.
