Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been fined 25 percent of his match fee for advancing towards umpires during the match between Afghanistan on 22nd June 2019.
He was fined under level 1 of the ICC code of conduct and Article 2.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for players and player support personnel which related to “Excessive appealing during an International Match”.
Kohli was found charging aggressively towards on-field umpire Aleem Dar while appealing for an LBW decision. For his actions, one De-Merit point was added to his record.
He has accepted the sanction from the match referee and there is no need for a formal hearing for him.
This was his second De-Merit point, First one came against in a test match against South Africa on 15th January 2018.
