#9 Javed Miandad – 6

It is a fellow Pakistani at number 9 on this list. Javed Miandad was called the ultimate street fighter. He was someone who was always up for a scrap. But it was in the interim that Atapattu did the maximum damage. He scored 6 double hundreds in 156 innings across 90 Tests he featured in.

#6 Mahela Jayawardene – 7

The Sri Lankan great smashed 7 double centuries across a career spanning 17 years. Mahela Jayawardene was supremely consistent in both Tests and T20IS. He is the only contemporary batter to feature on this list. Kane Williamson is a distant 13 on this list. Virat Kohli took 5 years to score his first double hundred in Tests (2016). But he soon went on to score them at a frenetic pace. Kohli’s dip in form has seen him go without a Test century over the past 3 years.
