Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who is the most prolific person in the Test cricket has turned 33 today. He is the only bowler in the recent times who bowl carrom ball and picks up wickets especially in the dry and dusty conditions.

Ashwin was in the squad for the recently concluded West Indies Tests but not included in the playing XI. However, Ashwin will play a huge role in the upcoming home series against South Africa.

Ashwin has made his first debut for Tamil Nadu in 2006 and was well known for his off-break bowling. He was the leading wicket-taker and player of the tournament of the 2010 Champions League Twenty20 in South Africa. Before being an off-spinner Ashwin went with his bat as an opener and made four Test Centuries.

Later, Ashwin made his test debut against West Indies in 2011 and became the seventh Indian to take a five-wicket haul on Test debut. He took two five-wicket hauls and scored a century in that series and won the player of the series award.

Ashwin has become the fastest player to pick 100 wickets in 18 matches broke his own record and reached the 300-wicket mark in Test cricket. Now, He was seen with an impressive record of 342 wickets in 65 Tests, at an average of 25.44.

Ashwin was honored with Arjuna Award in 2014 and ICC Cricketer of the year 2016 along with ICC Test Cricketer of the year 2016 in December.

As per few internal sources, Ravichandran Ashwin might move from Kings XI Punjab to Delhi Capitals for next edition of the Indian Premier League. He has a decent record of 125 wickets in 139 IPL matches at an economy rate of 6.79, which is the best among all Indian bowlers with 50-plus wickets.
