The fastest ball of IPL 2022: The speedster Umran Malik again left all stunned with his impactful bowling ability on Sunday. SRH’s Umran Malik recorded the fastest delivery of IPL 2022 when he clocked 154 kph in the 10th over against the Chennai Super Kings in Pune.

The J&K bowler, who has been competing with New Zealand and Gujarat Titans counterpart Lockie Ferguson for bowling the fastest deliveries in this competition, edged past the seasoned Kiwi fast bowler by a whisker.
During the 10th over of the game against CSK, he clocked 154 kph, the fastest delivery of the season, surpassing Lockie Ferguson’s previous best of 153.9kph. Astonishingly, Malik hit the same speed (154 kph) later in the innings during the death overs.
Malik has so far taken 15 wickets from nine matches. Although he ended up expensive in Match 46 of IPL 2022 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, going for 48 runs off four overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s fast bowling coach and the most dangerous bowler of his time Dale Steyn expressed his views on Umran Malik. “Umran will play international cricket, no doubt about that. He bowls at 150kmph consistently, and nobody else is doing that in the world right now, maybe Lockie Ferguson is the other guy who does it, but they are very different bowlers. But from an Indian point of view, he is the only guy that consistently bowls over 145-150kmph every single ball, so he will play for India. But how India manages him is completely up to them,” – said Steyn.
Some days back, the former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar also shared his thoughts on the rise of Umran Malik but with few suggestions. While commenting on the live IPL match, Gavaskar said, “If he bowls wicket-to-wicket and controls the wide’s down the leg side, he will be a tremendous bowler.”
Malik has been carefully monitored for his potential to be selected for the Indian team in the near future, as well as his ability to consistently clock 150+ deliveries.
