Tewatia Feels His Performance Is Not Upto The Mark In This IPL

Rahul Tewatia was a star last year in UAE when he decided to take on Sheldon Cotrell and he smashed 5 sixes in an over which helped Rajasthan Royals win the match. RR got an instant hero and became one of the important all-rounders for the franchise. However, the performance from Tewatia didn’t get continued in the IPL 2021. Here is Rahul Tewatia About His Performance In IPL

Rahul Tewatia About His Performance In IPL

Rahul Tewatia himself knows that the performance was not up to the mark in the 2021 edition and he is looking out to perform better in the second leg of this year’s IPL.

“I am really looking forward to it, however not just that match, but all the seven matches. I like to play all my matches with the same intensity and intent, but of course, there are good memories facing PBKS, so it feels special,” Tewatia said in a release sent by Royals.

“It also gives me great belief and confidence that I can produce similar performances and do something extraordinary whatever the situation may be. My intent will always be to make the team win from anywhere,” expressed the all-rounder who has 452 runs and 26 wickets in 41 IPL matches.

I had the chance to really work on it and bowl with a set rhythm: Tewatia

Tewatia further mentioned that he has improved much during the off-time and fixed few issues in the bowling. “Bowling-wise, there were a few areas we had identified during the season where I could improve,” said the leg-spinner.

“Sometimes you don’t realize it when you’re constantly playing, but things like your wrist position can become inexact. So I had the chance to really work on it and bowl with a set rhythm.”

Tewatia needs to step up for Rajasthan Royals as they’ll be without all three main players with the likes of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Jos Butler. RR got their replacement but it’ll be difficult without these players.

We will see the first match of Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings on 21st September. The second leg of the IPL starts on 19th September.
