Hole’s SRH Needs to Close to Win Second Qualifier of TATA IPL 2024

SRH Ahead of Qualifier 2

In every interesting world of cricket, the TATA IPL 2024 is now in its finishing stages where every game is crucial and teams are willing to do anything in order to move further into the tournament. In the first qualifier game, it was KKR the table toppers who destroyed the SRH batting top order early on in the game and then went on to win the first qualifier.

Mainly it was the over-reliance of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma that had put pressure on other batters and in yesterday’s game the same thing happened where both Travis and Abhishek were dismissed early on which resulted in a rapid fall of the SRH batting order. Now even after losing the first qualifier they now have a chance to reach the final, where they have to beat the winner of the RR vs RCB match in the second qualifier.

What Happened to SRH in the first Qualifier against KKR

There were a lot of mistakes in the first Qualifiers by Hyderabad which cost them a match, Firstly it was the top-order collapse where seven players out of the playing 11 scored single-digit runs. Moreover in Feilding also two big mistakes helped the KKR batsman with multiple lifelines. In a match like this you have to be on point with batting and fielding must be flawless.

Even though SRH batting crumbled they managed to put up 159/10 in 20 overs. In the past, we have seen an instance where SRH have defended low scores credit to their bowlers but in the first qualifier, the SRH bowlers lacked luster and were looking like something was off with them.

Only Pat Cummins and T Natarajan were able to pick up wickets and that too both picked up one wicket each.

What Should SRH Do to Win the Qualifier 2

Now SRH has one last chance to reach the finals, where they will have to perform like they did in the group stages. The top order needs to fire with either of the openers scoring big runs, which in return helps other incoming batters to keep going. SRH has a very good bowling attack with experience and youth, and in this important match, they have to do everything in their hand to pick up early wickets and keep the pressure on opponents.

Moreover, the fielding must be flawless in these kinds of matches. Like they say “Catches win you matches” so every catch and every run saved will be crucial for SRH in this knockout fixture here at Chennai.
