This is the second time Virat has won the orange cap in IPL. He won it for the first-time during IPL 2016 when he led the team to the finals and missed to secure the cup by 8 runs. Kohli’s 973 in 2016 remained the highest batter scored in IPL history.
Chennai Super Kings new captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was the backbone of his team this season, as the opener’s batting performance was the setting stone of every CSK inning.
Gaikwad has struck 583 runs with the bat at an average of 53 and a strike-rate of 141.16.
Riyan Parag is the surprise performer for many due to his performance in the league in the last five years. From smashing 600 in 54 games to 573 in 16 games this season, the middle order batter has come a long way.
The nightmare for bowlers Travis Head secured the fourth spot with 567 runs and the best strike-rate among the top-5 with 192.20. While Rajasthan’s skipper Sanju Samson finished the season at number 5 in the list.
